The stunning contemporary kitchen/dining room with full width
bi-fold doors opens onto the back garden being well equipped with a
gas hob, 2 large integrated ovens, microwave, dishwasher and plenty
of storage space. Fabulous space for conjuring up a culinary
delight whilst still being engaged with the family. Just
behind this living space there is a very useful utility room with
washing machine, tumble dryer, sink and extra storage and also a
very spacious wetroom with 2 showers.
Rip Curl has a large and comfortable living room with french doors leading to the front garden and a large corner sofa, together with a flat screen television and woodburner- ideal for those guests joining us on cosy winter evenings.
One of the double bedrooms is situated on the ground floor and benefits from a stylish and modern shower room just outside across the hallway. This spacious bright and airy bedroom has a flat screen television and built in wardrobe.
The large landing at the top of the stairs leads to the other 5 bedrooms and the main bathroom, featuring bath and separate shower. One of these bedrooms is another light double bedroom enjoying hillside views. There is a further bunk bedroom, 2 single bedrooms and a double bedroom - all bedrooms are very spacious indeed!
There is a gated driveway with parking for 3 vehicles and a decked pathway which leads around to the back garden passing an outdoor shower and surfboard area on the way. The garden is fully enclosed with a lawned area and a large terrace with built in seating, sun loungers, fire pit and hot tub (charges apply)! The perfect area to enjoy long sunny days and to relax in the evenings.

£60 non-refundable booking fee payable at time of booking.
50% of the accommodation cost and booking fee are required to secure the booking. The remaining balance & payment for any extras is due 8 weeks prior to arrival along with the refundable damages deposit (if applicable). If your dates are within 10 weeks, full payment is required.
Check-in time is from 5pm and the check out time is 10am.

Please note, to ensure optimum cleanliness & hygiene of the hot tub, it will be completely emptied and re-filled with water and chemicals on your arrival day. Therefore, the hot tub may not be up to temperature until the morning after your arrival.

We needed a large place for a family celebration, to accommodate children and grandchildren across 3 generations. This was perfect for everyone. Very well equipped with lots of space so that everyone had their own bedroom and space if needed. The hot tub was a hit with all generations and the fire pit was well used for marshmallow roasting in the evenings. The surfing extras of board store, wet suit store and the outside shower were very well used and appreciated. The proximity to the beach (7 minutes walk according to the eldest grandson!) is particularly good because the cars can stay on the drive and in peak season that is a real bonus! It's not often that, as a family, we can find unanimous agreement but on Rip Curl everyone wanted to return again.
Just back from a fabulous week staying at Ripcurl. Superb location with handy secure gate onto Sandy Lane, fantastic hot shower and wetsuit storage then into the hot tub right there ! Comfortable bedrooms, quality towels and lots of bathroom space. Well equipped kitchen and liked the big blackboard, comfy living room with log burner.
What an amazing week, with great friends! The hot tub was fab!! and the surf amazing!!

Lovely light airy property. Slept 9 comfortably including 7 adults and 2 older teens. Literally perfect for a stroll to the beach and took us about 5 -7 minutes. Would highly recommend paying extra for the hot tub which was immaculate. Make sure you take wood for the fire pit as this is not provided, we took our own but not sure where we would have brought it locally. We spent every night by the fire pit and it was so sociable. Kitchen is well equipped and plenty of towels are provided for use inside. Wasn't much hanging room for towels so we washed ours frequently using the washing machine and dryer and they washed up beautifully, put my towels at home to shame. Would suggest taking small make up mirrors as not all rooms have them. I would say this house would suit all age groups but we found it particularly suited our older teenagers and we take home fond memories. Would very much hope to return.

Rip Curl is ideally situated in the village of Croyde, with easy access to the local pub, shops etc as well as the beach. We visited in February half term so the pub was a welcome stop in point for walks on the coast during Storm Dennis! The properties has 3 shower rooms which was a big bonus for our party (3 families). The huge kitchen/dinner was our hub and I'm sure in the Summer months when the bi-folds can be opened it will be an even bigger centre. The kitchen was very well equipped if you cooked at home including a large fridge and freezer. The utility room also had washing machine and dryer. During the week we did have a couple of issues with the boiler with the pilot light blowing out due to the storm and maybe it needs a service after the downtime, but when it was running, provided plenty of hot water for both bathing and radiators. The one minor downside to the property was not enough seating in the lounge area (for the size of the property). This is unlikely to be an issue in the summer when the patio and bi-folds extend the interior, but in the winter months cosying up by the fire we needed a couple of extra chairs in there.
We really enjoyed our stay at Ripcurl. The rooms are light, spacious and well appointed. The kitchen opens out onto the terrace and has a large table and eating area. The outstanding feature is the terrace, with plenty of seating for outside dining. The beach is a short walk away. The Ocean Cottages team were very helpful and accommodating during our stay. A great holiday.

Gorgeous house, very high spec, loads of space for 3 families. Perfect location for walks to beach and strolls to local pubs. Great facilities for surfers. Would happily book again and strongly recommend.
We had a great October break at Rip Curl, the house has everything that you need for a relaxing break. We loved that you were just a 5 min walk from the beach. My children tried body boarding for the first time and loved it. The hot outside shower is a great idea. Had a lovely meal at the blue groove in Croyde. Hopefully be back soon.

What a wonderful few days at Ripcurl. Such a treat to be able to walk back from the beach and get straight under a hot shower! The food at the Thatch & Rock is not to be missed!
