Reviews

Quality accommodation

Property easily accommodated the needs of our family. Excellent location, convenient for both beach and village amenities. Sunny, safe enclosed garden .

Great location for the beach.
House spec is correct- we’ll equipped. Linen excellent, plenty of towels. Beds comfy. Hot tub was great. Plenty of hot water even the outside shower. The house in the communal areas is getting grubby mainly the rug. Hot tub headrests are shedding rubber. Parking is tricky for 2 cars.

Thank you for having us..

Booked quite last minute for a large group in February and we had a great time. Secure garden for dogs and with 9 adults, 2 toddlers and the dog we didn't feel on top of each other at all. Thank you for having us

A comfortable home

This is our second visit to Hartland view and we love the garden and hot tub. Also , the bedroom set up suits our family well. There are a few things in need of improvement: the freezer was iced up so you couldn't fit anything in it. There was a dead fly in the water container in fridge. The oven is very slow to work. The crockery needs changing. I think there should be complete sets of glasses mugs and plastic cups for the children. It would be much easier to have a separate tumble drier so on wet days with a large family towels are easier to dry.

Thank you for your review. It is lovely to have you as return customers and we are pleased that the property suits your family. We are sorry to hear that you had issues with the fridge and freezer during your stay. If we were aware of these things, we would have ensured that they were sorted for you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your recommendations for the property too, we will be sending them to the owner of the property for their consideration. We hope to be able to welcome you back again in the future.
Fantastic accommodation

Beautifully appointed house. We felt very comfortable during our 3 night stay. Hot tub was a lovely addition & even though November one of my sons enjoyed the fabulous outdoor shower! Croyde village easily accessible as is the beach.

Perfect Devon Getaway!

Myself and a group of friends were due to go skiing for a week which was cancelled at the last minute. We booked Ocean Cottage and the team we're very prompt in confirming that we could stay at the last minute! The communication was excellent and they were very accommodating in enabling us to stay an extra night at the end, again at very last minute! The cottage itself is absolutely perfect!! It's beautifully decorated, the rooms are lovely, comfy beds, amazing showers including a hot outdoor shower perfect for after surfing! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook as a group every night, the place is a short walk to Croyde beach and there is a surf rental shop literally next door. The hot tub was the cherry on the cake! We had an absolutely brilliant week and we are already talking about booking again next year! Huge thanks, Ocean Cottages Team!

Lovely holiday house in a great location

Just returned from a fabulous holiday at Hartland View. The house is in a great location a short walk from the village and beach and was spacious enough to absorb 10 adults. There is a lovely view across the valley from the garden, everyone loved the hot tub and the surfers appreciated the outside hot shower. Ocean cottages were very efficient and provided reassurance about the additional cleaning measures being taken during COVID19. We also managed to leave a watch at the house which the housekeepers found and the team have been extremely helpful in getting back to its owner. Would highly recommend Hartland View and Ocean Cottages.

Great Location!

Walkable beaches for surf which do not allow dogs in summer season, but 5 min drives to Saunton or Putsborough which both allow dogs all Year. Walkable corner shops and short drives to Tesco (Braunton) or Asda (Barnstaple). Great garden with hot tub, not overlooked with generous seating. The house itself is a lot more spacious than the photos give it credit for, along with some nice cosy spaces too. We also found it to have a well equipped kitchen. Great communication from Ocean Cottages regarding the necessary changes to their procedures as a result to the different rules implemented by the Government this Year. Very happy with the measures in place. Will definitely look to stay again in the future."

Great location, the hot tub is a must!

We had a fantastic week in Croyde and Hartland View is in a great location to enjoy all it has to offer. We hardly drove all week, with the beach in walking distance and the village for grocery shopping, as well as walking to the lovely Manor House Inn for dinner one evening. The hot tub is great as well as the outdoor shower and wetsuit drying area. Giving it 4 stars instead of 5, only because some of the windows need some restoration work - this didn't really affect our stay as such but when you pay a decent amount of money to rent somewhere, the windows could be in better condition. The rest of the house maintenance was in good condition and bathrooms are lovely. A really great place to stay and we will definitely be coming back again! Thank you.

Wonderful family house - perfect holiday location!

We had a truly wonderful week. The house is perfectly located between the beach and the village of Croyde. There are a few sections of the walk that are along the road, so you need to be a little extra cautious with small children, but cars and pedestrians are all very considerate. There is plenty of space for everyone - the children especially loved the two separate rooms where they could escape the grown ups! The hot tub was a bonus, and we were impressed that someone came Round mid week to ensure it was still clean and working! The garden is lovely and secure, and well Maintained, the kitchen is perfect for large family meals and is well equipped. We will certainly be back!

A perfect base!

This is our first visit to Hartland View and I'm sure we'll be back.  It has been a perfect base for our grown up family.  Easy access to the beach and village has been great.  Can throughly recommend The Rock at Georgeham for food and the walk around the headlands to Putsborough and Saunton.  Thank you for such a lovely welcome.

We liked Croyde a lot and the location in th village was great!
It was convenient being able to walk to the beach (and Baggy Point) and to the pub nearby. We loved the two living rooms - meant the kids could play in the other room and we could sit with a glass of wine!

Cracking stay, we all really enjoyed it!
Willis Family   Feb 2018
A lovely property that provided a great venue for a family holiday of three generations.
We particulary enjoyed the hot tub and the outside shower facilite for the post-surf warm up. The weather was rather wet and windy, Stor Brian was interesting to watch. The Manor Inn is excellent for Sunday lunch but probably best to book.
The Mead Family   Oct 2017
All of us had a n amazing week in this lovely cottage!
The house is very well equipped with al the extras that you would want during a week away from home. We have enjoyed the beautiful September weather and visited some of the strangest but most enjoyable attractions. Croyd eis a favourite of ours and we will be back. Thank you.

We've had such a lovely week in this beautiful house.
Our 4 year old daughter has had a brilliant time learning to bodyboard on the beach and loved the experience of real sand. We barely left Croyde, sticking mainly to the beach area or the garden. Coffee and cake at The Stores has become our tradition and we will miss it when we get home. Thank you very much, and we would love to come back.
The Gerish Family   Aug 2017
We very much enjoyed our stay in the house in Croyde - so thank you for making our stay pleasant.

Perfect Holiday
This has been a perfect first holiday for us. Having a 2 year old and 10 year old it can be tricky fidning stuff to suit all our needs - but this house does just that! We have made great use of the board games, DVD's and Wii on rainy days! The hot tub is part of our daily routing and a walk to the village fro ice crea,, the following a beautiful country trail to awesome park for the kids. - finished watching the sunset on the beach. So handy having the surf shop next door - the surf has been amazing. Can't wait to come back next year - a real home from home

Wonderful stay at Hartland View
Extremely well facilitated, very relaxing and serene. Looking forward to staying again. Should you want to venture our and take a leisurely coastal walk, Putsborough is this 1.5 miles away with a lovey long open beach. Parking is this side of the coast with refresher facilities on the opposite end of the beach approximately 1.5 miles long. Combe Martin is well worth a visit also approx 20 minutes drive. We visited the lovely Verity in Ilfracombe which is a statue by Damien Hirst overlooking the harbour. Braunton has everything you need i.e. groceries, pharmacy, hardware store, cash machine and various dine outs. Croyde village is a gentle stroll away and Georgeham a little further with two pubs to offer lovely local ambience with entertainment. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!
