Sandy Shores is a beautiful 3 bedroom property that can sleep up to 6 guests.

Living/Dining/Cooking

The sitting room houses three sofas and a large wall mounted smart television with access to Now TV. Decorated with a modern beachy twist, this room provides the relaxing retreat you need on holiday. There are French doors that lead out onto the garden.

The open plan kitchen/dining room has seating for all 6 guests and is equipped with all the facilities for making your family meals - with the added benefit of a range cooker with plenty of gas hobs.

Sleeping/Bathing

There are two spacious bedrooms on the ground floor. From the first bedroom as you enter the property, you can find a utility/laundry room which houses the washing machine and tumble dryer, with a door accessing the outside of the property. This room also benefits from a stylish en-suite shower room. There are smart televisions in each of the bedrooms throughout Sandy Shores. The second ground floor bedroom can be configured as twin beds or a super king bed.

To the ground floor there is also a beautifully presented family bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Upstairs you will find a very impressive master bedroom with ensuite shower room. This room has plenty of storage and has the option to be presented as two single beds or a king size bed and enjoys views towards Croyde's beautiful sand dunes.

Outside

A well-established herb garden has been planted to the front of the house, providing fresh ingredients for your home cooked meals.

The enclosed garden is perfect for dogs and children. There is a summerhouse which has been turned into a children's games room with a miniature football table, smart TV and comfy bean bags. There is a paved area to the garden and coal BBQ available, to enjoy al-fresco dining and a glass of wine in the sunshine!

Outside taps are provided - perfect for washing off wetsuits and surfboards after a long day on the beach. There is board and bike storage to the side of the property with a combination lock for safety. Parking for 2 cars is available on the driveway at the front of the property.

Reviews

Great location and excellent value for money
Wonderful week of bodyboarding at Croyde and the location of Sandy Shores meant an easy walk to and from the beach. The property was excellent value for money and had sufficient seating for all (which has not always been the case in previous holiday cottages). A shame not all mattresses were of the same quality as that in the master bedroom. With this in mind we would still recommend staying here.

A well equipped property in a good location for the beach and everything that Croyde has to offer.

Unfortunately this lovely property was badly let down by a terrible standard of cleaning. Every handle in the kitchen was sticky and unpleasant to touch likewise the cooker controls and front. The heated towel rails in the bathrooms were covered in stains and dust and there were cobwebs, spiders and dust in many of the corners. Probably the worst standard of cleaning we have seen in any of the properties we have stayed in in Croyde and we have been visiting for many years. Very disappointing to start a holiday by arriving at a property that isn't clean.

Thank you for your review. We are very disappointed to read your review and have spoken with the contracted housekeeper to ensure that they pay special attention to the areas you have mentioned. We do not expect that a guest should encounter these findings during their stay. Should you have contacted us at the beginning of your holiday, we would have made every effort to rectify these issues immediately. We are pleased that the house met your requirements and we do hope to welcome you back to Ocean Cottages in the future.
A Wonderful Stay

We had a wonderful family holiday at Sandy Shores. Very spacious and well equipped. Any very minor issues were very promptly solved and we are already booked for next year. Highly recommend.

Reliable consistent service

Been coming to Croyde every year now for 15 years to various properties and this property is best one for us, just had 3rd visit and already booked for 2021. Ocean cottages have been very helpful throughout the Covid pandemic with shifting dates and safety requirements.

Happy Memories Made

Thank you for a wonderful week in your lovely home, we have been coming to Croyde for many years since the children were babies (now 25 and 22!).  Picked the best week of the year so far 30 degrees most days.

All of us spent time bodyboarding - Squires (best fish n chips anywhere) The Thatch (lovely family meal) but also just chilling in your peaceful home.

Happy Memories Made, thank you

'Home from Home'

We will never be able to thank you enough for our fantastic week in your beautiful home.

We had an amazing time and were so lucky with the weather. Mind you, even if the weather had been really bad, the kids wouldn't have cared as they just wanted to stay in the house most days!

You really have thought of everything it's a real 'Home from Home' and we have had a fantastic week making some lovely memories.

A good base to explore North Devon

We have just spent a lovely, relaxing four nights at my cousin Julie's home.  Croyde is certainly a base to explore North Devon from... a stroll around Baggy Point is a must as is Braunton Burrows and Crow Point.  We also visited Westward Ho!, Appledore, Woolacombe, Ilfracombe and Barnstaple.  We have had some really nice meals and Hobbs Bistro is certainly worth a visit.

Thank you Julie we would certainly love to return again one day!

Wonderful memory making place!
Croyde is always a beautiful place to be helped by, a lovely place, light and airy and well equipped. We had a lovely family week (6 adults) with plenty of room.

Lovely house in ideal position
My family and I stayed here to celebrate my 70th birthday. The house was the perfect size and the grandchildren loved the little garden room. We were a bit disappointed with a couple of issues we raised with the housekeeper and that weren't resolved whilst we were there. Also some items we felt should have been checked prior to our stay i.e. The tumble dryer wouldn't dry as it was so full of water which leaked all over the floor. Also the freezer was so iced up it was difficult to open the drawer. These are minor issues but we felt they should have been dealt with prior to our arrival. This does not detract from the fact that we loved the house or the manner in which you as a company dealt with our rental. If things aren't checked properly for arrival then the problems continue for the next people. Ocean Cottages Comments: Thank you very much for your 5* review, we are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the property. Following your departure you informed us that you had some issues with a couple of the garden chairs and the parasol at the property. We investigated this further with the housekeeper, and we are sorry that this wasn't rectified during your stay. We do highly recommend, as stated in our guests information pack, to contact Ocean Cottages if you do require any assistance. We offer a 24/7 line, and would have done our upmost to ensure that these items were addressed for the remaining of your stay. Thank you for making us aware of the tumble dryer and the freezer, although again, we would have greatly appreciated that we were made aware of this whilst you were at the property. We would have had both of these issues sorted as promptly as possible, and you could have enjoyed the use of these items for the rest of your holiday. We will look into the issues you experienced with the freezer and the tumble dryer immediately. We do very much hope to welcome you back to Ocean Cottages again in the future. Please rest assured, that we act on any essential repairs or maintenance that is raised during a guest's stay.

All the facilities needed
Having stayed in Croyde in various properties every year for last 12 this is perfect layout and facilities for us and we love the location in this quiet cul de sac. Look forward to next stay.

Thank you for a lovely stay where we created some life time memories.
We had a wonderful 11 night stay at Sandy Shores, the house is lovely and a really nice layout for our little family of four. Great location and beautiful area. We had some great day trips out and weather was decent for the time of year. We will certainly be back again. Thank you for a lovely stay where we created some life time memories.

Blissful days of rest and recuperation, interspersed with lovely long walks.
Blissful days of rest and recuperation, interspersed with lovely long walks. Visits to café for crab sandwiches and cappuccino’s with the odd ice-cream and clotted cream teas – just to support the tourist industry, you understand. Hikes included Woolacombe, Mortehoe (a definite), Lynmouth – Watersmeet – Countisbury (awesome) and Clovelly (steep but quaint). Lovely to sit of a sunny evening on the edge of the limekilns at Croyde Beach and watch all the adults and children surfing after work and school. Peaks of laughter and squeals of delight at the temperature of the chilly water in early May, along with the sounds of he is crashing waves and the gentle breeze – marvellous. Sandy Shores is a home rental not a house rental. Everything you could need has been thought about and generously provided, even for the four-legged visitors. A warm and welcome retreat when the North Devon weather does the opposite.

Hope to repeat our visit here next year.
We have just finished 3 lovely weeks in Sandy Shores. Squires restaurant in Braunton was excellent – also the garden café by the National trust car park on the way to Baggy Point. We visited the R.H.S Rosemoor Gardens in Great Torrington – a must for Garden lovers. Although a long journey – a great day out at Dunster Castle (National Trust) and Arlington Court (National Trust). Croyde, Putsborough and Saunton Sands are excellent beaches. Hope to repeat our visit here next year. P.S We were here 3 weeks so lots of washing and ironing – would have appreciated a full-size ironing board. Thanks.

Great week in Croyde
This is a really well equipped house in the centre of Croyde village. The beach is 15 minutes walk but mostly down a path and well away from traffic. Pubs and shops pretty much at the end of the road so v handy. House itself is nice with good sized kitchen and three big bedrooms. Small garden at the back gives some outside space.

We have had a lovely week here in Croyde.
Weather has been kind, we’ve spent most of our time on the beach, our children love the body boarding! The house is perfect – great location and very comfortable, thank you! Great meal at The Thatch, fantastic fish and chips at Squire’s restaurant in Braunton.

The house is very warm and comfortable, and we slept well.
We’ve been coming to Croyde for many years but this is the first time we’ve never stayed in dog friendly accommodation before, he loves Croyde beach as soon as we do! Love the photo on this page (in property visitors book) and we took many similar ones this weekend – fabulous lighting. The house is very warm and comfortable, and we slept well. We bought the Croyde poster from the Post Office to give us a lasting memory. Thanks for everything.

Great property, book and chill out
We booked this property because it had everything we needed for 4 adults, 2 kids, 1 dog and two cars and we weren't disappointed. Great space, lots of room for people to be together (or alone :-)) and the Clubhouse in the garden was a real bonus for the kids with the TV & games console, sofa, games - the only thing that made them want to leave was the lure of the beach. Beach is an easy walk, as are the pub(s) and Croyde village. We visited in August so sadly couldn't take the dog on Croyde beach however Saunton Sands is 5 minutes in the car and will take dogs (area restrictions). Huge fridge in the kitchen of the property meant lots of storage for drinks (+ wine cooler). Enclosed garden with dining furniture, good off road parking for 2 large cars. Bedroom config great (one upstairs with sofa and ensuite, double and twin on ground floor) and a total of three bathrooms/shower rooms. No pets on furniture (as you would expect) but owners good enough to supply throws to protect the sofa's if you felt the need for a cuddle with pooch in the evening. Nice size kitchen, dinner and very useful utility room if required. Outdoor drying area and storage for boards and wet suits and outside tap. Milk and chocolate cake on arrival which went down well after hours in the traffic. Tesco in Braunton which is a very short drive and sells everything you would need. We booked via Ocean Cottages, who were very professional, prompt replies to all enquiries and returned our security deposit within the stated time - we would use them again. Use this property for a chilled out holiday in a comfy house where you can spend all day at the beach and the evenings barbequing or at the pub. Our two weeks flew by ................ NB. I didn't give a rating for the 'good value for price paid' because we visited during school holidays and everything is more expensive during this time so if we weren't prepared to pay the price we wouldn't have booked it!

House is comfy, spacious with a great layout and never felt crowded.
Finding great holiday accommodation is difficult when you have varying ages, kids, dog and a couple of cars but this was easy. Booking was simple, website works well and the accommodation was exactly as described. Well done team for getting just the right amount of communication, friendly and informative. Sandy Shores is a great house, everything you need is there. The Clubhouse in the garden (which the kids named 'The Pod') is a great idea. Normally kids get bored so easy but with the games console, tele, comfy sofa etc they loved it. House is very comfy, spacious with a great layout and never felt crowded. 15 minute gentle walk to Croyde beach and 10 mins to the pub. Great having three good bathrooms so no waiting. Decent sized fridge meant lots of room for cold drinks (and beer ☺ plus a wine cooler) was fab. All in all a very chilled out holiday in a kid / dog freindly house, very close to everything, thankyou!

Lovely, clean cottage in a great position. Would definitely stay again.
Ideal position for a holiday in Crodye. Within walking distance from beach and village. Modern cottage which is both family and dog friendly. Would definitely stay again.
