Chuggs Chill Out is a 2 bedroom traditional thatched cottage with plenty of characterful features and a fabulous garden area with fire pit, BBQ and hot tub (charges apply) to 'chill out' in after a hard day at the beach!

 

Located close to the centre of Croyde, this charming 2 bedroom cottage offers space, character and an amazing 'chill out' zone in the garden!  Perfect for families seeking a traditional piece of Croyde accommodation with a beachy twist.

Chuggs Chill Out is a traditional thatched cottage which dates back to the 18th century and was originally part of Chuggs Farm.  The property has been lovingly restored with traditional & more modern features giving it a really unique feel with low beams*, large solid wood doors, stone fireplace with original bread oven, coupled with driftwood hand rail, electric Aga, wall murals painted by local artist Steve P.P and an adornment of sea shells and decorations.  This property offers comfort and relaxation for the whole family.

Living/Dining

The living/dining room is spacious with plenty of comfortable seating plus dining seating for up to 6 people.  There is a smart tv, DVD player and an assortment of DVD's and games to keep everyone entertained.  The real feature of the room is the beautiful stone fireplace with feature log burner (not in use) and original bread oven.

Cooking

The kitchen is well equipped with electric Total control Aga & hot plates, dishwasher, Smeg fridge/freezer and plenty of pots and pans to cook up a feast if you wish.

Sleeping

From the living room stairs* with driftwood hand rail lead up to the first floor where there is a stunning master bedroom with original vaulted ceiling, a superking bed, tv and a pull out bed suitable for a child (charges apply).  There is also a bunk bed room with tv & DVD player

Bathing

Downstairs there is shower & utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.  Upstairs there is a family bathroom with shower attachment over the bath.

Outside

Outside, the driveway parking for 2-3 cars is accessed via the driveway for Chuggs Cottage, through two gates.  The original front door gives access to the front garden and road.  There is an outside hot/cold shower, perfect for washing off after the beach and cleaning wetsuits.  The pièce de résistance is the fabulous secluded rear garden area which has a Scandavian feel to it with a large decked area and sunken Cedar Wood barrel hot tub (charges apply), undercover oil drum BBQ with chimney for 'al-fresco' cooking in all weathers! Handmade solid wood garden furniture and original open air Kadai fire bowl which can also be used as a BBQ.  The garden has been very thoughtfully designed in order to allow use all year round.

*Please note that due to the age of the property, the stairs are very steep and narrow and there are some very low beams and a hanging collection of vintage surfboards (for display purposes only - not for use) which may be a hazard to taller people.  Young children, the elderly and people with restricted mobility need to be very careful on the stairs (there is a stair gate provided at the top of the stairs and a door at the bottom).

Rental & Booking Information

£60 non-refundable booking fee payable at time of booking.

50% of the accommodation cost and booking fee are required to secure the booking. The remaining balance & payment for any extras is due 4 weeks prior to arrival along with the refundable damages deposit (if applicable).  If your dates are within 6 weeks, full payment is required.

Check-in time is from 6pm and the check out time is 9am.

Any special requirements?  Speak to us and we will be pleased to do all we can to make your stay special.

Please note, to ensure optimum cleanliness & hygiene of the hot tub, it will be completely emptied and re-filled with water and chemicals on your arrival day. Therefore, the hot tub may not be up to temperature until the day after your arrival. 

This property does not accept pets, however the owners do have their own dog and therefore this property is not suitable for people with allergies.
